Doen Sebastiane Skirt Review: Fit, Fabric & Styling Notes
The Doen Sebastiane Skirt Styled Four Ways
Two years ago I bought my favorite skirt - the Sebastiane. It was the original - in white - and I had the most fun finding ways to wear it every season. It’s the perfect length, with subtle feminine details, and pairs so well with different silhouettes. In honor of my favorite skirt, I’ve put together four styled looks for your own inspiration, and a few more fit details to help you decide if you need one (or another one) in your closet.
Look 1: The Scholarly Stroll
With its crisp white skirt, chunky green knit, and sneakers, this look channels effortless city-girl energy. The scarf and tote add warm autumn tones, while the book-in-hand detail makes it ideal for afternoons spent wandering between park benches and coffee shops. Comfortable, grounded, and thoughtful.
Look 3: The Modern Archivist
With the darker skirt, paired with a checked jacket and oxblood loafers, it leans smart and slightly retro. The gingham and structured bag nod to vintage academia, while the bold lip and heart pendant keep things romantic. A look that’s archival but alive, made for days spent chasing inspiration in libraries or museums.

Look 2: The Fireside Reader
A deeper palette of chocolate, rust, and olive gives this version of the Sebastiane skirt a cozy richness. The quilted jacket and Mary Janes soften the crisp white base, making the outfit feel layered and inviting. It’s perfect for curling up with a classic novel, but polished enough for a casual dinner.
Look 4: The Soft Collector
This version feels romantic and playful, with a rose wrap sweater, mustard Mary Janes, and a blue suede bag for contrast. The black skirt grounds the palette, while the patterned scarf adds a hint of storytelling whimsy. Feminine without being fussy, it’s the kind of outfit that feels equally right at a gallery opening or an afternoon writing session at home.
Doen often shares photos to their stories of how people are wearing their clothes, and I try and make a point to save those for outfit inspiration. Here are a few of my favorites of the Sebastiane.

As a disclaimer, my blog features affiliate links, but I am not affiliated with Doen. Through a third party affiliate platform, I am able to collect commission on purchases you make through my links. Unfortunately for my bank account, I’ve made all of my Doen purchases on my own. It’s a brand I love and lust over, despite it’s flaws (price, lack of lining, occasional quality issues). As someone who has always loved dresses, and the market hasn’t always matched my demand, I’ll keep coming back to Doen, even if just for the escapism.
TLDR; Thanks for shopping with my links!
