Halloween 2026

Last year I started a new tradition of creating a Halloween themed piece of non-photography art. I came up with line art of famous haunted houses from film, tv, and history (Beetlejuice, Amityville, Practical Magic), and sold a few prints and tees with that design. This year, I decided to take a spooky approach to this style of outfit doodle I’d been doing since the spring. It’s inspired by a few vintage halloween sewing patterns and photos, and features the whimsical Black Cat bag my sister got me from Kate Spade.

Alright, before we get to this year’s Halloween costume, humor me while I share some of my favorite creations from October’s past. A few years ago, I challenged myself to do 13 Days of Halloween content, and it almost broke me (in a good way). Here are some from that project and previous years.

Alright, without further ado, may I present, Helly R.

It’s a bit lazy, but I’ve wanted to do this since it was actively airing and I kept seeing her in my reflection with my freshly cut bangs. Maybe someday I’ll give it another go with cosplay level effort… Maybe for Season 3.
